Costantino Finucci

Costantino Finucci, graduated with honors from the Salerno Conservatory in 2007, under the guidance of Maestro Claudio Di Segni.

During his studies, he performed sacred music as the bass soloist (2003) with the orchestra in Vincenzo Fiodo's Dixit Dominus, conducted by Maestro Virginio Profeta.

He made his operatic debut in 2005, performing the baritone role of Enrico Ashton in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale (TLS) in Spoleto.

He won several prestigious international competitions: 59° "Teatro Lirico Sperimentale  di Spoleto A.Belli" (third prize), 59° "AsLiCo", "Tito Schipa" (second prize), "Benvenuto Franci" (Ettore Bastianini's Prize),"Maria Caniglia" (third prize), "Mattia Battistini", "Rocca delle Macie" (third prize).

Possessing a wide vocal range from the very beginning of his career, which allowed him to naturally navigate both baritone and Bass-Baritone / Basso Cantante roles, he refined his artistry through masterclasses at the Accademia Chigiana, TLS in Spoleto, AsLiCo, and the Scuola dell'Opera Italiana. He perfected his technique under the guidance of opera legends such as Renato Bruson, Leo Nucci, Brigitte Fassbaender, Raina Kabaivanska, Barbara Frittoli, and Alfonso Antoniozzi.

He has debuted 45 operatic roles, including about twenty leading roles.

Highlight: Between 2016 and 2025 at Teatro alla Scala, he performed as a soloist in 112 main performances (including 3 prestigious December 7th Season Openings), in addition to 4 previews and 15 public dress rehearsals—frequently under the baton of M° Riccardo Chailly.

He has collaborated with many renowned conductors, including Riccardo Chailly, Zubin Mehta, Nello Santi, Daniel Oren, Myung-Whun Chung, Marco Armiliato, Daniel Harding, Donato Renzetti, Fabio Luisi, Gianpaolo Bisanti, Nicola Luisotti, Michele Gamba, Daniele Agiman, Michael Balke, Manacorda, and with directors, including Beppe De Tomasi, Mario Martone, Leo Muscato, Brigitte Fassbaender, Marco Arturo Marelli, Robert Carsen, Davide Livermore, David Pountney, David McVicar, Liliana Cavani, Alvis Hermanis, Marina Bianchi.

He performed in theatres and for institutions such as: the Teatro alla Scala, the Teatro Regio of Turin, the San Carlo of Naples, the Filarmonico of Verona, the Landestheater in Innsbruck, the Teatro Verdi of Salerno, the Rendano di Cosenza, in Douai in France, the opera Giocosa of Savona, for the Aslico, in the main theatres of Reggio Emilia, Modena and Piacenza; the Bellini theatre in Catania; the Fraschini theatre in Pavia, the Grande theatre in Brescia, the Teatro Sociale in Como, the Ponchielli theatre in Cremona; the Valle D'Itria festival; the Politeama Greco theatre in Lecce, the Titano theatre in San Marino; the Borgatti theatre in Cento, in Civitanova Marche, at the Stabile di Potenza; the Teatro Aurora in Gozo, in the Umbrian theatres for the TLS in Spoleto and the Nuovo in Spoleto; in Busseto; at the TCBO; at the Santa Cecilia Auditorium.

Verdi, Belcore nell'Elisir d'amore di Donizetti, Marcello, Schaunard e Colline nella Bohème di Puccini, Ping nella Turandot di Puccini.

He sang in over 100 performances at the Teatro alla Scala in: Bello in G.Puccini's La fanciulla del West, Yamadori in G.Puccini's Madama Butterfly (7 December), Barone Douphol in G.Verdi's Traviata, Fléville in U.Giordano's Andrea Chenier (7 December), Ostasio in the Francesca da Rimini by Zandonai, Fiorello and Primo Official in the Barber of Seville by G.Rossini, First appearance and Herald in the Macbeth by G. Verdi (7 December), Quinault in' Adriana Lecouvreur by Cilea , il Primo Giudice nel Ballo in Maschera by G. Verdi, Marullo in Rigoletto by G. Verdi, Loreck in Fedora by U. Giordano, Sciarrone in Tosca by G. Puccini.

He is the first King Lear in King Lear of Cagnoni (and first recording), directed by M° Massimiliano Caldi for the festival of Martina Franca, live on radio 3 and live in Europe, directed by Esposito.

He is also the first Pelagio in Pelagio of Mercadante, recorded on CD, directed by M° Mariano Rivas for the festival of Martina Franca, live on radio 3 and live in Europe, with the direction of Pichon.

He has performed in numerous opera concerts, as well as in Italy, abroad: in Japan, China, Thailand, Germany, Austria, Russia, Hungary, Spain etc.
