Revival of the production already given in 2016, and which we reported on then.
Co-production with the Salzburg Festival.
Undoubtedly, the most anticipated debut of the year on the podium of the La Scala Orchestra will be that of Kirill Petrenko, conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Trained in a vast operatic repertoire during his years at the Opera Komische, Petrenko chose the twilight elegance of Strauss and Hofmannsthal's apologue on love and renunciation in 18th-century Vienna for his first performance at La Scala.
