Description
Director Lydia Steier is behind this production of Der Rosenkavalier, transposing Strauss's opera into an aesthetic concept by Austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein. Diana Damrau sings the role of the Marschallin, and Joana Mallwitz conducts the Zurich Opera Orchestra.
The premiere of the production on 21 September 2025 will be recorded on video. It will be broadcast with a slight delay in Switzerland on SRF Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (on 21 September from 8.50 p.m.) and throughout Europe on Arte from 10.20 p.m., on television and online. SRF 2 Culture will broadcast the production on 28 September.
