Dedicated body and soul to her vocation: singing, music and theatre, the soprano Isabel Rey, who hails from Valencia, is internationally recognised for her exquisite vocal technique and her sensitive acting skills: she is one of the few hispanic artists who has had the honour of performing regularly at the Salzburg Festival and along her distinguished career she has debuted in the most important capitals on the opera circuit, such as Vienna, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, Zurich, London, Edinburgh, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Paris, Los Angeles, Washington, Stockholm, Athens, New York, Brussels, Moscow, Tokyo, Rome, Venice and Amsterdam. Having mastered a wide repertoire which ranges from Monteverdi to Stravinsky, this very versatile singer has performed in more than 55 different operas over the last two decades, the most outstanding among which are Le nozze di Figaro, Lucia di Lammermoor, King Arthur, Così fan tutte, Alcina, Die Fledermaus, Die Zauberflöte, Rigoletto, Les Pêcheurs de Perles, Carmen, Don Pasquale, L'elisir d'amore, Idomeneo, Don Giovanni, Falstaff, Der Rosenkavalier, La Bohème, La Fille du régiment, Dialogues des carmelites, Pelléas et Mélisande and The Rake's Progress always working with great conductors such as Harnoncourt, Noseda, Santi, López Cobos, Welser-Möst, Koopman, Frühbeck de Burgos, Plasson, Viotti, Fischer, Marriner, Lombard, Zedda, Hager, Corboz, Christie, Minkowski, Biondi, Luisi and Maazel.

Recently she has added to her repertoire such attractive roles as Margherite from Faust, Antonia from Les contes d'Hoffmann, Die Gänsemagd from Die Königskinder (Humperdinck) and Amelia from Simon Boccanegra. Isabel Rey has appeared in many videos in which she performs some of her most successful roles alongside singers of the calibre of Juan Diego Flórez, José Carreras and Leo Nucci. She is a regular collaborator with the José Carreras Foundation for the fight against leukaemia and patron of the Clarós Foundation dedicated to the support of acute deafness through research, prevention and education.
