Description
Jean-Pierre Ponnelle had imagined this staging in 1968 in Florence. The latter has already been taken up, notably in Paris in 2011-2012, then in 2013 or again in June 2017 and in 2018 at the Bayerische Staatsoper. A film was also shot in 1981.
