Roberto Alagna invites us to lightly relive the memories of his youth: born into a family of Sicilian immigrants, he first earned his living singing in Parisian cafés and cabarets a mixture of old-fashioned songs and popular verses, made famous by Mario Lanza or Luis Mariano a few decades earlier. Luis Mariano's C'est magnifique, Harry Belafonte's Angelina, Frank Sinatra's My Way, Spanish verses like Granada and Neapolitan songs such as O sole mio take us back to the time when tenors didn't worry about the boundaries between musical genres, and when "good music" simply meant any music that spoke to the heart.
