Inseparable accomplices since the time when they both participated in the Ambronay Academy, Héloïse Gaillard and Patricia Petibon evoke in music the crossed destinies of three emblematic queens. Agrippina the Younger, Roman empress, is delicately portrayed by Handel in his cantata Agrippina condotta a morire. Mary, Queen of England inspired Purcell to write some of his most beautiful pages. Finally, the destiny of Eleanor of Aquitaine is set to music by Thierry Escaich to a poem by Olivier Py, a work co-commissioned by the CCR of Ambronay. A royal program!
