Description
Revival.
In January, and then again in April and May 2027, the Metropolitan Opera in New York will revive Verdi’s Otello in Bartlett Sher’s production, originally created in September 2015. For this occasion, the Met Opera has assembled a formidable double cast: dramatic tenors Michael Fabiano and Brian Jagde share the title role, alongside sopranos Angel Blue and Ailyn Pérez as Desdemona. Opposite them, baritones Amartuvshin Enkhbat and Artur Ruciński portray the sinister Iago. Conductors Daniele Rustioni and Michele Mariotti lead the Met Opera Orchestra and Chorus.
The performance on April 24, 2027, will be broadcast in cinemas worldwide as part of The Met: Live in HD.
