"Ravel, whom Stravinsky nicknamed "the Swiss watchmaker", created his first lyrical opus at the Opéra-Comique, a musical comedy magnifying the words and mechanics of theater, just before beginning his collaboration with the Ballets Russes. It is for these that after the war, Stravinsky agreed to draw his inspiration from the theater buffa of Pergolesi: created at the Opera, his ballet Pulcinella inaugurated the neo-classical period of his production.

Louis Langrée, Guillaume Gallienne and Clairemarie Osta combine the performing arts in the service of these two masterpieces inspired by the gallant 18th century, in a show which celebrates the freedom of genres and the fecundity of the comic spirit."
