General Information

Description

Based on Giuseppe Verdi's Falstaff (1893).

French translation by Renaud Boutin.

"In the Windsor playroom, the toys come to life as soon as the children's backs are turned. But amidst the gleaming dolls and brand-new stuffed animals, a battered old robot stands guard: Falstaff. Once the house's favorite toy, he is now relegated to a corner, rusty and covered in dust. Yet his vanity remains intact. Determined to regain his place in the children's hearts, he hatches a daring plan: to seduce Alice and Meg, the two new star dolls in the closet.

But between clumsiness and boasting, Falstaff's scheme quickly backfires. For Alice and Meg have no intention of being fooled: beneath their satin dresses lie two lively minds, ready to dismantle prejudices and teach the pretentious old man a lesson. All in a joyful twist of scheming, disguises, and misunderstandings.

With this adaptation In a playful and participatory performance of Verdi's ultimate masterpiece, spectators are invited to join the adventure, to sing and play along. A mischievous celebration of theatre and music, where we learn that beyond pride and prejudice, it is always possible to find each other... and to make a joke of the world."
