General Information

Description

Revival of Jean-Louis Grinda's production, in which we missed Marie-Nicole Lemieux's stage debut in 2022, has been announced again for this production. We also reported on this production in our French columns in 2018 during its premiere in Toulouse, as well as in 2020 from Monte Carlo.

Carmen is the world's most popular opera, and one of the most moving—a searing tragedy about a woman who confronts her destiny to assert her freedom to the very end. In 2022, Marie-Nicole Lemieux made a historic debut in the title role, despite the difficult context of the health crisis. To ward off these times and offer you once again, in the best possible conditions, Jean-Louis Grinda's beautiful production, a rapid revival was essential: it will be dazzling, with a dream double cast, under the baton of Leo Hussain, ideal in the French repertoire.

More information is available on the official website of the opera house.
