"After Il primo omicidio and Giulio Cesare, Philippe Jaroussky will once again lead his ensemble Artaserse to begin exploring this miraculous trilogy of "A"s (Arianna, Ariodante, and Alcina). To rival Porpora's troupe, which had hired Farinelli, Handel brought Giovanni Carestini from Italy and composed virtuoso and moving pieces for him. For this concert version, three of the finest voices of our time will grace the stage of the Opéra Berlioz: Kathryn Lewek in the title role, Carlo Vistoli as Ruggiero, and Katarina Bradić as Bradamante.
