"Beaune reconnects with the music of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, which have so marked the history of Burgundy. Before the magnificent cycle of 15th-century tapestries depicting the Life of the Virgin, a masterpiece of Burgundian art, the young singers of the Contre le Temps ensemble imagine its music and vibration. Weaving links between religious devotion and courtly love, they show how medieval composers wove music that was both fervent and sensual around the figure of the Virgin Mary."
