"Antonio Vivaldi was one of the most brilliant composers of the 18th century. A dazzling virtuoso, he left behind concertos of incredible modernity for his instrument, full of verve and imagination. His vocal work, equally masterful, oscillates between the sacred and the secular with equal joy.

For these pieces, whether the celebrated Nisi Dominus or the love cantata Cessate, omai cessate, Julien Chauvin has chosen to call upon the prodigious British countertenor Tim Mead.
