"In this edition, soprano Sonya Yoncheva presents a performance that pays homage to one of the most fascinating writers of Romanticism: George Sand. With a repertoire that combines vocal lyricism and the emotional depth of Sand's texts, Yoncheva invites us to immerse ourselves in the author's passionate and defiant universe. Through her voice, she opens a window onto a world where George Sand shattered the social norms of her time, defending freedom and passion through her words and works.
In this recital, Yoncheva not only performs the great arias that marked her international career, but uses her voice as an instrument in the service of the word, much like the novelist's writing. The program, deeply influenced by the writer, includes verses by Pauline Viardot and Alfred de Musset, who shared an intense personal and intellectual relationship with Sand. The soprano, known For her ability to bring characters to life with unique expressiveness, she invites us into a secret conversation about love, freedom, human complexity, and the contradictions that define Sand's universe.
An evening in which Sand's words and Yoncheva's notes merge to create a new narrative. A hymn to creative freedom and the uncontrollable passion for life."
