In this adaptation of Gershwin's masterpiece, conceived specifically for the Auditorium and the Chorus of the Bordeaux National Opera by Emmanuelle Bastet, the slums of 1920s Charleston are a distant memory. Swing, blues, and spirituals are carried by some twenty colorful characters in a 1950s jazz club. At the Porgy & Bess Jazz Club, there's singing, playing, laughing, swinging, and mourning, but above all, we follow the moving figure of Bess, the beautiful entertainer, around whom three men gravitate.
