New production for the 2027 Bayreuth Festival

As one of its two new productions, the 2027 Bayreuth Festival presents Parsifal in a new staging by director Ersan Mondtag, whose work never fails to provoke a strong reaction from the audience. The set design and scenery are entrusted to the artist duo Neo Rauch and Rosa Loy.

Musically, conductor Christian Thielemann, a key figure at Bayreuth, will lead this new production, accompanying a cast of renowned Wagnerian singers: Piotr Beczała in the title role (which he has mastered brilliantly), Mika Kares as Gurnemanz, Michael Volle as Amfortas, and Michele Losier as Kundry.
