Revival.
In March and April 2027, the Metropolitan Opera in New York will revive Jules Massenet's Manon in a production directed by Laurent Pelly, acclaimed by critics for its elegant yet innovative style and its attention to the human and psychological dimensions of the characters. The production has also already been praised for its balance between respect for tradition and aesthetic boldness. This version, co-produced with several major European opera houses, offers a refined reinterpretation of Massenet's work, enhanced by Chantal Thomas's sophisticated costumes and evocative sets.
For this revival, Yves Abel will conduct, while soprano Nadine Sierra will reprise the title role, which she regularly performs with freshness and dramatic intensity.
