Description

Concert.

"Fausto, a semi-seria opera in four acts created at the Théâtre-Italien in Paris in 1831, combines two situations of great rarity in the romantic lyrical landscape. It is the work of a woman and, although an Italian work by its language, its style and its genre, it was composed by a Frenchwoman. Two years after the publication of Eight Scenes from Faust by Hector Berlioz, Louise Bertin in turn drew inspiration from Goethe's play and demonstrated the modernity of his aesthetic ambitions. Deprogrammed after only three performances, Fausto today deserves a second chance to express himself. Karine Deshayes and Karina Gauvin in particular, supported by Christophe Rousset and his Talens lyriques, will be keen to put all their energy into this rebirth.

Co-production Théâtre des Champs-Elysées / Palazzetto Bru Zane / Les Talens Lyriques / Flemish Radio Choir, as part of the 10th Festival Palazzetto Bru Zane Paris.
