It was in Mülhausen in 1707 that Bach took up a position as organist and composed his first cantatas. They would forever mark his oeuvre and become the backbone of his career. His own genius happily coexisted with the inspiration of his teachers, first and foremost that of Buxtehude. Bach only held his post in Mülhausen for a few months before joining the court in Weimar. It was during this short stay that the three cantatas that make up this program were born, performed by Sébastien Daucé and Correspondances, regulars at the Ambronay Festival."
