This is the second opera of the composer Thierry Escaich, on a booklet Goncourt 2008 Atiq Rahimi story telling the story of Shirine, princess of Armenia, a woman of great modernity and figure of emancipation that falls madly in love from Khosrow. An impossible love story between the Persian king Khosrow and the Christian princess Shirine, an epic that spans three generations, full of twists and turns marked by the curse and death, adapted from the work of the Persian poet of the twelfth century Nizami Ganjavi.
