Description

"Pygmalion is undoubtedly Jean-Philippe Rameau's little masterpiece. In a single act, the famous story of the sculptor who falls in love with his work provides him with the pretext to build an extraordinarily evocative sound world. The statues come to life, love launches its arrows, and the sculptor's chisel strokes punctuate the overture! In this favorite role of the countertenors, it is the formidable Cyril Auvity who takes on the role of Pygmalion. He is accompanied by the brilliant musicians of the Masques ensemble, who will perform as a prelude the orchestral suite from Hippolyte & Aricie."
