A co-production of the Salzburg Easter Festival, the Greek National Opera and the Royal Ballet and Opera in London.

After premiering at the 2024 Salzburg Easter Festival, this production of Amilcare Ponchielli's La Gioconda by Oliver Mears will be revived at the Greek National Opera in October and November 2025. In this co-production, the director transposes the action of the opera to contemporary Venice, in a staging that aims to be both respectful of the work and to offer a fresh interpretation.

On the stage of the Greek National Opera, dramatic soprano Anna Pirozzi takes on the title role of La Gioconda, after having made a lasting impression on the same stage in the production of Medea. She shares the cast with Arsen Soghomonyan, Alisa Kolosova, Anita Rachvelishvili and Dimitri Platanias.
